The PC version, owned and installed through Steam, Epic or the Rockstar launcher. Console copies cannot be used — FiveM is Windows-only.
Getting started
From nothing installed to your first shift
This is the whole process in order: what your PC needs, how the whitelist works, how to actually connect, and what to do when FiveM decides not to cooperate. Read it once and you will not need to ask in chat.
Before you start
What you need
FiveM is a modification for Grand Theft Auto V, not a separate game — so the GTA V requirement is real and there is no way around it.
The FiveM client
Downloaded free from cfx.re. Install it after GTA V, not before — it looks for an existing installation to attach to.
A working microphone
Not optional. Roleplay happens in voice, and the whitelist interview is done in voice as well. Text-only play is not supported here.
Recording software
Ready at all times, not just when something happens. The server rule is no clip, no sit — for reports in either direction, including against staff.
A Discord account
Everything runs through the Discord: the rules, the whitelist queue, and support. Leaving the Discord removes your whitelist, so a re-apply would be needed.
A character you can play
A realistic name and a rough idea of who they are. Realistic names are required by the rules, and staff will ask you about your character in the interview.
The process
Four steps, in this order

Join the Discord and verify
The invite is on every page of this site. Verify when you land, then read #server-rules — it is the authoritative version of everything on our rules page.

Apply for the whitelist
You can apply from this website — it opens the ticket for you and puts your answers in it. Support only happens in tickets, never in chat and never in DMs, so that is also how you ask anything else.

Voice interview
Staff take you into the whitelist voice channel for a few minutes: your mic, your character, and whether you know how the city works. There is no fee and no written form.

Connect and create your character
Once you are whitelisted, the server details are posted in the Discord. Launch FiveM, press F8 and paste the connect line, or use the server list.
Whitelist not approved? You can reapply. The usual reasons
are a microphone that does not work, a character name that breaks the rules,
or not knowing the rules — all three are fixable, and reapplying is not held
against you.

Getting onto the server
The server's address changes with each wipe, so it is posted in the Discord rather than printed here where it would go stale.
From inside FiveM
Launch FiveM, press F8 to open the console, and paste the connect line from the Discord. Press Enter and it will load straight in.
From the server list
Search the server name in the FiveM server list, favourite it, and connect from there. Favouriting it means you only need to find it once.
Your first session: spawn in, make your character, and take
a look around before chasing action. Introducing yourself in character and
learning the city slowly is how most people last — and remember that death in
roleplay has consequences, so treat your character's life as worth something.
Troubleshooting
When it does not work
Almost every "it will not let me in" is one of these. If none of them fix it, open a ticket rather than asking in chat.
FiveM says it cannot find GTA V
FiveM looks for a legitimate GTA V installation. Check that GTA V is
installed and has been launched at least once on that account, then
reinstall FiveM. If the game is on a different drive, run FiveM once as
administrator so it can locate it.
The launcher opens but nothing happens
Run FiveM as administrator, and make sure your antivirus is not blocking
it — FiveM patches the game at launch, which is exactly the behaviour some
scanners flag. Add the FiveM folder as an exception rather than disabling
the scanner entirely.
I get stuck on "Connecting" or time out
Restart FiveM and try again — the first connection to a server is the
slowest because it downloads the server's content. A VPN can slow this
down or break it entirely, so turn it off while connecting.
Nobody can hear me in game
Check Windows sound settings that the correct microphone is the
default input device, then check the voice settings inside the
city. If voice worked in the interview and not in game, it is almost
always the in-game input device setting rather than the microphone.
I was whitelisted but cannot join
Whitelists and server access are tied to your Discord account. If you left
the Discord and rejoined, or changed account, the whitelist will not
follow — open a ticket and staff will sort it out.
How do I report a player?
Finish the scene first, then open a ticket with your clip, the time, and
who was involved. Reports based on personal dislike, or without a clip,
cannot be actioned. See Support for the full
